This small sterling silver cloisonné and basse-taille enamel pendant is inspired by photos and sketches done whilst visiting the North Norfolk coast on holiday. It depicts a perfect summers day with reflections over the sea and puffs of clouds in the sky. The boundaries between the sea, sky and land have cloisonné silver wires to separate them whilst the details on the sea and sand have been painstakingly engraved into the silver before the enamelling process begins. The enamel is built up in thin washes of colour which has been carefully shaded. Each layer is fired in the kiln before the next. Finally the whole piece is ground and polished with diamond grits and polish to a beautiful, tactile surface. It measures approximately 22mm x 18mm and hangs on a 45cm chain. This can be changed if required.
